Large swaps on Swapea: what to expect

No maximum of our own and no waiting for approval. How large swaps work, what the funds review involves and when the private desk is worth it.

On Swapea, a large swap works just like a small one. There is no approval to wait for and we set no maximum. You pick the coins, check the amount after fees, add your addresses and send.

What still applies

  • Route limits. Some coins have a per swap maximum on a given route. The swap box shows the range before you create anything.
  • Review. Both addresses are checked before a deposit address exists, and every deposit is screened against sanctions lists and known stolen funds.
  • Rate movement. A large amount on a slow chain spends more time in transit. A fixed rate locks in the amount if you send within its window.

Tips for a smooth large swap

  1. Send from a wallet you control, not straight from an exchange withdrawal that may be delayed.
  2. Use a fresh receiving address and double check the network.
  3. Pay a normal network fee so your deposit confirms in time, especially on Bitcoin.
  4. Keep the swap page open or follow it in our Telegram bot.

When to use the private desk

From around $500,000, contact the private desk before you send. You get a better price than the public rate, agreed in advance, one person who stays with you until the coins arrive, and the option to send in planned parts.

Splitting a large swap into many small ones to dodge the review does not help. It makes a hold more likely. Read the full policy in AML and large swaps.
